Kawasaki GPZ 900R (Top Gun Edition) Diecast Model Motorbike (by WITS WTS027)
This diecast model Kawasaki GPZ 900R (Top Gun Edition) is Red and Black and features working stand, steering, wheels.
A worldwide limited edition of just 500 pieces, this is the Kawasaki GPZ that Tom Cruise rode in the famous Top Gun film. As you may know, WIT’s has recently modelled Kawasaki’s famous GPZ 900R, and in fantastic detail. But WIT’s has created a small production run of just 500 bikes in homage to the Kawasaki Ninja that Cruise rode in Top Gun. There’s a lot of information about this bike on the internet. It was sprayed in this particular colourway by the film producers, who apparently did not want to use the standard paint scheme because Kawasaki would not supply them with bikes. It may even be the case that the bikes in the film were 750s, although visually the 750 and 900 bikes are identical. Studying the original film and still shots of the bikes that were taken on the set, WIT’s has created an absolutely authentic copy of the original bike, accurate down to the very last sticker. But there is one thing we do have to point out. This is not an officially licensed replica of the film bike. It is merely a copy of the machine that appeared in the film. It comes presented in a plain black box without any Top Gun identification and, for the sake of clarification, we have to point out that there is no implied association between the film and Tom Cruise and the bike that has been reproduced. This having been said, the bike itself is one of the most iconic that has ever appeared in a film and with a limited edition of just 500 pieces, this could end up being one of the most collectible 1:12 replicas there has ever been.
1:12 scale (approx. 18cm / 7.1in long) - made by WITS.
